Gordon Grdina występuje solo i w zespołach od 1997 roku. Ma za sobą współpracę z tak różnymi formacjami, jak arabsko-hindusko-perska Sangha, dziesięcioosobowa awangardowa Haram (nominowana do nagrody Canadian Folk Music), improwizujący kwartet smyczkowy East Van Strings, współczesny perski zespół Qalandar i free jazzowo-punkowe duo Peregrine Falls. W 2005 roku dla wytwórni Songlines nagrał album z Garym Peacockiem i Paulem Motianem, a w 2013 roku dla tej samej wytwórni – album „No Difference” ze swoim długoletnim współpracownikiem, Markiem Heliasem, z gościnnym udziałem Tony’ego Malaby’ego i Kentona Loewena. Był trzykrotnie nagradzany Western Canadian Music Award, otrzymał również Indie Award oraz nagrodę Juno za współpracę z indie rockowym artystą Danem Manganem. Występował w najbardziej prestiżowych jazzowych klubach i na najsłynniejszych festiwalach w Europie i Kanadzie oraz na europejskich festiwalach folkowych i rockowych. Współpracował z takimi artystami jak Mats Gustafsson, Evan Parker, Colin Stetson, Samuel Blaser, Jerry Granelli, David Tronzo, Fredrik Ljungkvist, Ingebrigt Håker Flaten, Fred Lonberg-Holm, Jeb Bishop, Eric Boeren, Michael Moore, Michael Blake, Han Bennink, Mark Helias, Tony Malaby, Gary Peacock, Paul Motian, Wilbert de Joode i Quinsin Nachoff.

Gordon Grdina has been performing and leading ensembles since 1997 and has tackled a massive range of groups from Sangha, an Arabic/Indian/Persian ensemble, to 10-piece Arabic avant-garde ensemble Haram (Canadian Folk Music Nominee), to an improvising string quartet East van Strings, contemporary Persian ensemble Qalandar, and Free Jazz Punk Duo Peregrine Falls. In 2005 He recorded with Gary Peacock and Paul Motian for the Songlines record label and in 2013 recorded with long time collaborator Mark Helias adding guests Tony Malaby and Kenton Loewen for the Songlines release No Difference. He has won three western Canadian music awards, an indie award and a Juno for his work with Indie rocker Dan Mangan. He has performed at some of the most prestigious jazz clubs and festivals in Europe and Canada, as well as European folk and rock festivals.
