Laureat nagrody Juno, Kenton Loewen, to uznany perkusista, wokalista i autor tekstów. Pochodzi z Vancouver, jest absolwentem tamtejszego Community College. W swojej artystycznej pracy wykorzystuje i łączy wiele gatunków – od muzyki eksperymentalnej i współczesnej po post-bop, free jazz, folk, country, punk, tradycje arabskie i afrykańskie oraz rock. Muzyk współpracował z takimi artystami, jak Submission Hold, Josh Martinez i The Pissed Off Wild, Po’ Girl, Mother Mother, Tanya Tagaq, The Coat Cooke Trio, NOW Orchestra, The Axelrod String Quartet, Eugene Chadbourne, Damo Suzuki, Gino Robair i Giorgio Magnanensi. Niezależnie od sceny, na jakiej występuje, Loewen pozostaje wierny swojemu wypracowanemu brzmieniu: Dla mnie muzyka to zachowanie jedności umysłu i duszy, aby tworzyć swoje dźwięki z siłą i zamiarem wykroczenia poza generujący je instrument, a co za tym idzie – samego siebie. Tylko wtedy można mówić o prawdziwości ekspresji.
