Henryk Böhm

Urodzony w Dreźnie artysta zaczął śpiewać w wieku dziewięciu lat w Dresdner Kreuzchor. Studiował w rodzinnym mieście w Hochschule für Musik Carl Maria von Weber, a następnie uczestniczył w kursach mistrzowskich prowadzonych przez ElisabethSchwarzkopf, Petera Schreiera, Wernera Hollwega i Brigitte Fassbaender. W 1996 r. został laureatem I nagrody Internationale Robert-Schumann-Wettbewerb w Zwickau i II nagrody Bundeswettbewerb Gesang Berlin.

W swoim repertuarze ma takie role, jak Papageno w Czarodziejskim flecie, Figaro i Hrabia Almaviva w Weselu Figara oraz rola tytułowa w Don Giovannim Mozarta, Herold w Lohengrinie Wagnera, Oniegin w Eugeniuszu Onieginie Czajkowskiego, Eisenstein w Zemście nietoperza J. Straussa syna. Występował gościnnie w Oper Leipzig, Staatstheater Hannover, Staatstheater Darmstadt, Aalto-Musiktheater Essen, Oper Köln, Sali Koncertowej im. Piotra Czajkowskiego w Moskwie, Stadttheater Bremerhaven, Staatsoperette Dresden i na znanym austriackim festiwalu Seefestspiele Mörbisch.
Henryk Böhm jest bardzo ceniony jako solista koncertowy; śpiewał podczas Salzburger Festspiele, Dresdner Musikfestspiele, Midem Classique Cannes, Settimane Bach di Milano, Herbstlichen Musiktage Bad Urach, Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Bachfest Leipzig, Händel-Festspiele w Halle i Göttingen oraz Rheingau Musik Festival.

Artysta występuje ze Staatskapelle Dresden, Dresdner Philharmonie, Leipziger Bach-Collegium, Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin, Dresdner Kreuzchor, RIAS Kammerchor, Chor des Bayerischen Rundfunks i National Chorus of Korea. Regularnie współpracuje z takimi dyrygentami, jak Julia Jones, Friedrich Haider, Daniele Callegari, Philippe Auguin, Alexander Joel, Helmuth Rilling, Laurence Equilbey, Carl St. Clair i Hans-Christoph Rademann. Ostatnio odbył tournée koncertowe po USA, Szwecji, Szwajcarii, Francji, Izraelu, Włoszech, Hiszpanii i Korei Południowej.

Recitale pieśni są ważną częścią działalności artysty. Koncertuje z takimi pianistami, jak Phillip Moll, Justus Zeyen, Alexander Schmalcz, Hendrik Bräunlich i Pauliina Tukiainen. Henryk Böhm jest pomysłodawcą i dyrektorem znanego cyklu koncertów „Das Lied in Dresden”. W 2014 r. objął stanowisko profesora w Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien Hannover.

The German baritone Henryk Böhm was born in Dresden. He started singing at the age of nine at the Dresdner Kreuzchor and studied at the Hochschule für Musik Carl Maria von Weber Dresden and further in master classes with Elisabeth Schwarzkopf, Peter Schreier, Werner Hollweg, and Brigitte Fassbaender. He is winner of the 12th International Robert Schumann Competition in Zwickau and the Bundeswettbewerb Gesang Berlin in 1996.

His repertoire includes amongst others the roles of Papageno in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte, Figaro and Count Almaviva in Le nozze di Figaro, Don Giovanni in Don Giovanni, the King’s Herald in Wagner’s Lohengrin, Onegin in Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin, Eisenstein in Die Fledermaus by J. Strauss the Son, and many others. Guest performances have led him to the Oper Leipzig, Staatstheater Hannover, Staatstheater Darmstadt, Aalto Musiktheater Essen and to the well-known Austrian festival Seefestspiele Mörbisch, Oper Köln, Tchaikowsky Concert Hall in Moscow, Stadttheater Bremerhaven, and the Staatsoperette Dresden.  Henryk Böhm is also much in demand as a concert soloist and appears with the Salzburg Festival, Dresdner Musikfestspiele, Midem Classique Cannes, Settimane Bach di Milano, Herbstlichen Musiktage Bad Urach, Festspiele Mecklenburg Vorpommern, Bachfest Leipzig, Händel-Festspiele Halle and Göttingen, and the Rheingau Musik Festival.

Among others, Henryk Böhm has performed with ensembles such as the Staatskapelle Dresden, Dresdner Philharmonie, Leipziger Bach-Collegium, Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin, Dresdner Kreuzchor, RIAS Kammerchor, Chor des Bayerischen Rundfunks, and the National Chorus of Korea. Recently concert tours have taken Böhm to USA, Sweden, Switzerland, France, Israel, Italy, Spain, and South Korea.

Recitals are an important part of his musical life, and he gives concerts with pianists such as Phillip Moll, Justus Zeyen, Alexander Schmalcz, Hendrik Bräunlich, and Pauliina Tukiainen. Henryk Böhm is founding director of the noted series of recitals "Das Lied in Dresden’. In 2014, he was appointed to a professorship at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hannover.
