The Art Chamber Duo was founded by pianist Julita Przybylska-Nowak and violinist Jaroslaw Pietrzak. The duet has recorded numerous world and Polish premiere recordings. Among these collaborations are compositions for violin and piano by Joseph Szulc, which they released on an album by the label DUX in 2014 and the works of Joseph Achron and Aleksander Tansman, which were included in the film Zapomniane melodie produced and published by the Studio GRANTOR.
The duet’s repertoire includes a variety of rarely performed compositions in a virtuoso brillante style. They specialize in works including Concerto in D minor by Felix Mendelssohn, Grand Duo Polonaise by Józef and Henryk Wieniawski and Sonata by Ignacy Jan Paderewski.
Both artists have been deeply inspired by Jewish compositions, particularly those written by artists murdered during the Holocaust or of Polish decent. Thru their work to conserve compositions of artists who died tragically or whose works have been nearly completely destroyed, the duet has had the great privilege of presenting Jewish music at the Jewish Community Centre in Warsaw and the Jewish Historical Institute. Additionally, they were invited to perform during the commemoration of International Holocaust Remembrance Day. They have also presented repertoire by Polish emigrant composers throughout Poland, the Czech Republic and Turkey.
Both artists serve as lecturers at the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music, in Wroclaw.
