The Kamil Piotrowicz Sextet is the second band founded by the Polish pianist and composer of the young generation, Kamil Piotrowicz. The band released their first album – Popular Music – in the autumn of 2016 and quickly attracted national attention. The album was nominated for the Fryderyk 201" award of the Polish Phonographic Academy for the best jazz album of 2016. It was also highly valued by jazz journalists and recognized as the album of the year by JazzPRESS, Jazzsoul.pl and polish-jazz.blogspot.com. The band has played at the most important festivals in Poland, such as Jazz Jantar in Gdańsk, Jazz nad Odrą in Wrocław, Summer Jazz Academy in Łódź and Jazz Jamboree in Warsaw. The music of The Kamil Piotrowicz Sextet is based on the original compositions of the leader.
In the transitional world of pot-Breton Woods, the contrast between the potential content and the new form has never been clearer, obviously creating a unique field of artistic and expressive interpretation, as well as prospects of idealistic changes. New words, new language, old words, old language, new words, old language, old words, new language. The comfort generation intuitively knows or does not know what I am talking about. Product Placement stands for immersion, an attempt to self-determine and, debatably, find oneself. It is also, but above all, a catchy title. The compositions were written in New York, Copenhagen, Warsaw and Gdańsk, and the album will be released on the newly established Howard Records.
