‘Speaking Concerts’ are meant to introduce various aspects of music to the widest audience possible. Each concert presents a composer and his work in their historical and cultural context.
The conductor of Speaking Concerts is at the same time their narrator showing how a work of music was created and what its inspirations were through playing and commenting upon carefully selected fragments, thus enabling the listeners who are fresh to classical music to be initiated into the intricacies of compositional craft.
This way quite complicated issues become lucid to the listeners and help them better perceive and appreciate a work of music. Each concert of the series supports the musical layer with a dedicated multimedia show of film projection, adding to the attractiveness of the music being played.
The first speaking concerts in Poland were held in Poznań and enjoyed enormous popularity with the audience, proving the great demand for this kind of experience.
