We invite you to the concerts of the 2020/2021 season!

The concert programmes planned for the last quarter of the calendar year are rich and varied but also safe, in accordance with the current sanitary requirements. They will certainly appeal to the tastes of the most demanding music lovers.

Still before the inauguration of the season, two attractive meetings with symphonic music will surely delight the listeners. Antoni Wit will conduct Frederic Chopin's Piano Concerto No. 1 in E minor – with Piotr Paleczny at the piano – and Ludwig van Beethoven’s Symphony No. 6 in F major. Bassem Akiki will conduct the orchestral version of the Pictures at an Exhibition by Modest Mussorgsky and Concerto No. 2 for cello and symphony orchestra by Paweł Mykietan. The solo part in the latter piece will be played by Marcin Zdunik.

During the opening of the NFM Wrocław Philharmonic season, also launching the celebration of the 75th anniversary of this ensemble, there will be works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, and the orchestra will be conducted by Andrzej Kosendiak. Among the outstanding soloists who will perform in the upcoming season in symphonic concerts, there will be the pianist Piotr Alexewicz and the South Korean violinist Bomsori Kim, winner of the last edition of the Wieniawski Competition. The repertoire will include lesser-known works of very famous composers, such as the Bassoon Concerto by Nino Rota, The Godfather soundtrack composer, as well as popular works, including Arlesienne Suite No. 1 by Georges Bizet, Symphony No. 1 by Sergei Prokofiev, Symphony No. 5 by Pyotr Tchaikovsky, Symphony No. 2 by Johannes Brahms or Beethoven’s Symphony No. 3 “Eroica”.

The concerts of the NFM Leopoldinum Orchestra will be equally interesting. During their first performance in the new season, they will present the works of Mozart, Krzysztof Penderecki and Antonín Dvořák. Their other concert programs will include compositions by Witold Lutosławski, Grażyna Pstrokońska-Nawratil, Karol Szymanowski, Tchaikovsky and Brahms. An important event will be the performance of the outstanding violinist Alena Baeva, who will perform the Concerto in E minor by Felix Mendelssohn.

Lovers of chamber music cannot complain about the lack of attractions either. Still in the summer there will be two concerts with members of the Polish Cello Quartet. The excellent Hagen Quartet will present a programme composed of Beethoven’s works. Gruppo di Tempera, Guimarães Piano Quartet and Wajnberg Trio will also play at the NFM. Noteworthy is the performance of Szymon Komasa, who will sing songs including by Richard Wagner and Modest Mussorgsky.

In the early music series, Mari Fukumoto will play compositions by George Frideric Handel for organ, Jarosław Thiel will conduct the Christmas Oratorio by Johann Sebastian Bach, and Andrzej Kosendiak will lead the works of Marcin Żebrowski, Henry Purcell and Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina.

The list of guests includes the excellent Polish Radio Chamber Orchestra Amadeus. Under the baton of Agnieszka Duczmal, they will present the works of Mikołaj Górecki, Beethoven and Dvořák.
The inauguration of the symphonic organ will be a highlight of the season. Soon we will provide you with details.

Please be advised that we are in contact with sanitary services and we organize our events in accordance with their recommendations and guidelines. All concerts take place without intermissions.
