Dear Music Lovers,
During the upcoming concert on 14 August, we will listen to two works that differ in almost everything: stylistics, time of creation and compositional assumptions. Concerto No. 2 for cello and symphony orchestra by Paweł Mykietyn is his new work, while the Pictures at an Exhibition by Modest Mussorgsky are widely known and popular piano miniatures – this evening they will be performed in a rarely presented orchestral version. The NFM Wrocław Philharmonic will be conducted by Bassem Akiki, and the solo part will be performed by Marcin Zdunik.
During this concert, we will hear the new pipe organ for the first time at the National Forum of Music, the construction of which in the Main Hall has recently been completed! Thanks to the new organ, the music of the past centuries will sound in its full shape and open a possibility of playing contemporary pieces for the organ, thus introducing many valuable works to our audiences. The instrument was designed and made by organ builders from the Orgelbau Klais studio in Bonn, which boasts over a hundred years of tradition and experience.
We invite you to the extraordinary concerts inaugurating the organ at the NFM, which will take place in November 2020! We will provide detailed information soon.
