The Novembre Quartet was created seven years ago at the Paris Conservatoire. The group consists of saxophonist Antonin-Tri Hoang, pianist Romain Clerc-Renaud, double bass player Thibault Cellier and drummer Elie Duris.  The young instrumentalists, having both classical and jazz education, have managed to create a large body of work due to the fact that they met on the paths of their previous careers such musicians as Benoît Delbecq, Marc Copland, Dave Liebman, Marc Ducret and Henri Texier. The avant-garde band, which is fascinated by free jazz and contemporary music, is also inspired by painting and film. Members of Novembre, with excellent improvisation skills, draw on modern formal solutions  in their works, hence the frequent music collages, short loops and unexpected returns of themes, or sequential overlapping of fragments of the work in its next movement. The experimental music of the band based on asymmetry serves to discover new horizons of contemporary jazz.

The concert takes place as part of the 17th edition of the "Jazz Migration" programme run by the Jazz Croisé Association - an organization bringing together French promoters, managers and organisers of jazz life. The aim of this program is to select teams that deserve wider recognition and then help them develop their careers by promoting their work and organizing concert tours.

The concert is part of the "Jazz Migration" series initiated by AJC to support the development of new jazz bands.
