Paris – A Sound Tapestry is not a conventional electroacoustic composition, nor is it a touristcentric travelogue. Instead, it’s a sonic view of the city of Paris compiled from field recordings made mainly at the margins of the city. It reflects the multi-cultural, multi-faceted, intricately woven sound tapestry of the city as experienced by an aural flâneur endlessly walking the city’s streets, observing through active listening. None of the sounds have been processed or manipulated; the sounds simply speak for themselves and tell their own story.
Paris – A Sound Tapestry is dedicated to the victims of the Paris terrorist attacks of 13th November 2015 – and to all those who call Paris home.
