This is the ninth season of the NFM Orchestra Academy, a project whose aim is to professionally prepare young musicians to work in orchestras. We invite you to the March open rehearsal of the orchestra involving the participants of this year’s edition.
One of the elements of the workshops are orchestral classes, enabling participants to rehearse a wide range of orchestral repertoire and to turn into experience the knowledge acquired during individual and section classes. It is also an opportunity to cooperate with top-class musicians. The April orchestral classes will be run by Yaroslav Shemet – artistic director of the Silesian Philharmonic in Katowice and music director the Baltic Opera in Gdańsk. Under his direction, the NFM Orchestra Academy participants will work on Joseph Haydn’s Symphny in D major Hob. I;104 ‘London’ (aka ‘Solomon’).
For several years now, the NFM Orchestra Academy has opened its doors for our audience to watch professional orchestra rehearsals. The fragment of the rehearsal open to you on Sunday is the last hour of the Orchestra Academy’s work this month, planned for a total of six hours and starting the day before. Your presence will surely become an additional motivation for our young musicians.
The open rehearsal will last one hour and will take place without an intermission.
