Noé Chapolard
Preparation of NFM Choir

Noé Chapolard studied conducting at the Lyon National Conservatory, and vocal polyphony at the Schola Cantorum Basel, after studies in public policy at Princeton University. He currently holds positions as musical director of the Auvergne Youth Choir, guest conductor at Ensemble La Sportelle, associate conductor at the Orchestra of the Lyon Civil Hospices and Ensemble Les Différents Oiseaux, and assistant choirmaster at Choeur Régional d'Auvergne.

Noé previously held principal conductor positions at Jeune Chœur Symphonique de Lyon and Orchestre Symphonique des Grandes Ecoles de Lyon, and worked as assistant for Spirito Chamber Choir.

In 2024, Noé founded Ensemble Phænomen, which he serves as music director, focused on reviving the music of Gottfried Heinrich Stölzel. Indeed, his passion for early music and particularly the music of the baroque era has led him to be invited by, among others, the Choir of Versailles Royal Opera, Ensemble La Sportelle, the NFM Choir, and in the upcoming season the French Radio Choir, to prepare or conduct recordings and concerts of early music and much more.

Along his conducting career, Noé worked as a baritone with ensembles such as Graindelavoix, La Capella Reial de Catalunya, Aedes, Bachcelona Consort, or La Chapelle Rhénane. He also composes music for choir and voices.
