The beloved pianist and satirist, who gained widespread recognition through television performances, has tirelessly popularised classical music for years, using his eloquence and humor.
Waldemar Malicki can confidently be called one of the most versatile Polish pianists. He has performed both as a soloist and chamber musician. He is an excellent improviser. His repertoire includes performances at events such as Warsaw Autumn, Wratislavia Cantans, and the Duszniki International Chopin Festival. He has recorded over forty albums and received the Fryderyk Award from the Polish Society of the Phonographic Industry for recordings of works by Henryk Wieniawski, Ignacy Jan Paderewski, and Johann Sebastian Bach. He is also a recipient of the Telekamera, Wiktor, and the “Artysta bez granic” awards. Malicki conducts music courses and seminars worldwide. In 2007, he co-founded Filharmonia Dowcipu with which he still performs. Since 2000, he has been the director of the “Fun and Classic” Festival of Musical Virtuosity and Humour in Nowy Sącz.
