They are still very young and continue their studies in music schools and universities, yet they are already accomplished artists – performing solo, collaborating with virtuosos, and winning top honours at Polish and international competitions. For the second time, the NFM Leopoldinum Orchestra, by inviting the most talented instrumentalists of the young generation, invites you to meet those who will shape the future of the classical music scene.
Among the distinguished performers whose presence will grace the January concert are young musicians from across Poland: Théodore Sieraczek, Julia Kalicka, Marcelina Rucińska, Julia Sekulska, Kornel Kawała-Mączewski, Elżbieta Dzierżanowska, Gabriel Pieronek, and Franciszek Zawadzki. These instrumentalists represent various disciplines: there are violinists, cellists, and a pianist. The concert is a special event not only for the audience, whose friendly presence is invaluable for aspiring musicians. Collaboration with the professionals from the NFM Leopoldinum Orchestra, from rehearsal to performance, is of great importance to the apprenticing players.
The young musicians will evoke stylistically diverse musical worlds for us, be it in Hadyn’s graceful piano concerto or in the extraordinary Concerto-Notturno by Mikołaj Górecki (son). We will immerse ourselves in the world of Romantic virtuosity thanks to works by Tchaikovsky, Wieniawski, and Sarasate. It’s also worth exploring the work of Mirosław Gąsieniec, a Wrocław composer and a former Witold Lutosławski scholarship holder (Lutosławski’s work is also included in the programme). The finale will be the Une larme variations by Rossini, full of poignant affections and included in the collection Sins of Old Age. Isn’t this a wonderful opportunity to be surprised by the authenticity and brilliance of these young artists’ playing style?
