Christmas was approaching. A shiny Christmas tree was put up on the Old Town Square – a symbol of magic that everyone wants to feel at this time. Colourful lights and star-shaped decorations adorned the streetlamps. The city noise and conversations of passers-by grew louder with every passing moment. Laughing children were running along the promenade leading to the National Forum of Music – they were rushing to a choir rehearsal for the Christmas concert. They were excited because in this concert they were to perform as singing angels.
On the beautifully lit stage in the ORLEN Main Hall at the NFM, the Boys’ Choir, Girls’ Choir and soloists of the “Rondo” Vocal Ensemble will sing accompanied by the NFM Wrocław Philharmonic under the baton of Małgorzata Podzielny. Among the presented pieces, you will recognize carols and Christmas songs eagerly sung in Polish homes and churches. You will also hear compositions from film music themed around Christmas. You will learn about Christmas customs, such as exchanging wishes, gifts, what the green tree and the sounds of bells symbolise. Sing along with us the most beautiful Christmas carols!
