ÖNDER is a band led by Dutch double bassist Jort Terwijn. Apart from drums, the band consists exclusively of low-register instruments. In Wrocław, this project will be presented with the participation of musicians active on the Amsterdam scene.

The artists have several years of intensive work behind them, with several line-up changes under their belt, and have released two albums, released in 2021 and 2023. Both albums feature an organic blend of acoustic and electronic sounds, and the low registers – so intriguing in their descriptions – do not translate into sonic monotony, which the musicians manage to avoid in several ways. To be convinced of this, you need only to listen to the opening track of the band’s latest album, Floods. Terwijn and his band explore the fringes of modern jazz, oscillating between hypnotic, multi-layered drones and ambient soundscapes, as well as fractured rhythms and rough, free improvisation.
