To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the NFM, we invite you to visit the Passage – a dynamic interactive sound corridor transporting visitors into the World of Memories. The installation was created by Pierre Jodlowski – the composer, performer and multimedia artist who is also well known to audiences as the artistic director of the Musica Electronica Nova festival.
This latest version of the project was specially developed for the NFM’s anniversary. In a way, it serves as a portrait of the institution – reflecting not only its musical activity but also the work of its entire team and the building’s remarkable architecture. The installation takes the form of a 10-metre-long tunnel that offers visitors an immersive environment of sound and light with which they can actively interact. Movements within the Passage are tracked by a set of sensors, allowing those inside to influence the surrounding auditory and visual atmosphere.
Pierre Jodlowski recorded the original sounds over several weeks to capture the unique energy and activity that permeate the NFM. As visitors walk through the tunnel, they will experience a kind of ‘sound memory’, offering a glimpse into one of the many facets of the institution’s operations. Let us immerse ourselves in time and listen to what the life of the NFM sounds like.
