During this concert, we will take you to Bonn, the birthplace of Ludwig van Beethoven. The NFM Wrocław Philharmonic will play works by this artist, as well as pieces by Joseph Haydn and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, composers who inspired the young Ludwig. Our journey will begin near the Rhine, where you can admire magnificent views. We will then walk through the cobblestone market square to the house where the boy remembered by history as one of the greatest musical geniuses was born.
In 2027, the entire world pays tribute to Beethoven on the bicentennial of his death. We want to introduce you to his wonderful music. How is it possible that Beethoven, known for his seriousness, was once a mischievous boy? It is said that one day he sneaked into the henhouse and stole some eggs. The good Mrs Fischer caught him and called him a fox. Little Ludwig then said, ‘I'd rather be a fox stealing music than a fox stealing eggs.’
Who did he become, what did he learn to play, did he go to school, how did his career develop, why did he stand before the clavichord and cry, what secret was he hiding from the world? You will find out the answers during the concert. The story of Ludwig van Beethoven, set in the realities of his times, will not only familiarise you with the life of this famous artist but also help you understand the challenges that come with fulfilling your dreams.
