‘I want to play like that too!’ exclaimed a boy in the audience, who was captivated by the concert’s atmosphere and the spirit of the José Torres & Havana Dreams ensemble. In another part of the hall, a girl whispered in her mother’s ear that she wanted to learn salsa.
During Carnival with Cuban Rhythms, you will certainly not need any encouragement to dance: colourful lights dancing to the rhythm of lively Cuban music will inspire all to join in the fun. The concert will begin with the Cuban Overture, bringing the atmosphere of hot Havana.
This interactive concert combining song, music, and dance, will be a wonderful, multi-dimensional experience. You will not only hear the instruments of José Torres & Havana Dreams but will also learn how the African drum and Spanish guitar emerged in Cuban tradition. You will also learn the basic steps of salsa and rumba. You will discover the meaning of the songs, performed in Spanish, and the role music plays in the lives of the Cubans. The pieces, arranged by Filip Torres, will be played with the participation of the NFM Wrocław Philharmonic. We invite you to a concert combining two worlds: Cuban folk music in modern arrangements and classical symphonic sounds.
