25 year old Aga Derlak, despite her young age, has predispositions to be a woldwide known star. There are many women in jazz society, but firstly: there is only a few pianist, secondly there are a very little so talented pianists. Derlak is contantly shaping her own musical identity with great maturity and awareness. She expertly builds a bridge between the tradition and the latest trends and direction in jazz music. Aga Derlak is a pianist and composer. She learned from the best Polish jazz pianists: Michał Tokaj and Paweł Tomaszewski. She has beed awarded during numerous competition and gained a big recognitionand appreciationin Polish jazz society.
Aga Derlak Trio has received the most prestigious polish music award The Award of Polish Phonography Academy FRYDERYK 2016 for the best jazz debut.
Aga Derlak Trio has been created in December in 2012 by the leader. The band consists of the bass player: Tymon Trąbczyński and the drummer: Szymon Madej. All members of the trio are students of famous jazz department of Music Akademy in Katowice and also the
graduates of jazz departmen in F. Chopin Music School in Warsaw. The trio performs its own compositions and arrangements. There is undoubtedly a courage and insanity in their play but it does not lack of lirism. Aga Derlak Trio succeded in many Polish and international contest. The band is the winner of: International Jazz Juniors Contes (2013), Contes of Young Blues and Jazz Bands in Gdynia (2013), International Czech Jazz Contest (2015). The pianist was rewarded individually during Krokus Jazz Festival. The band performed during numerous festivals in Poland and abroad: Jazz by Vistula (2013), Hevhetia Festival in Kosice (2014) and Bratislava (2015), Brno Jazz Festival(2014), Lotos Jazz Festival (2016), Festival of Jazz Pianists in Kalisz (2016).
Aga Derlak Trio released in 2015 their debut album „First Thought” in Slovakian record company „Hevhetia”. The album has received plenty of positive reviews and recomendations of critics and journalists in Poland and abroad. Flattering information about the album can be found in polish,
skovakian and czech jazz magazines or websites and in British magazine Jazzwise.
In the spring of 2017 will be released latest album.
