The International Cello Academy (ICA) is one of few events in Europe dedicated to cellists from around the world.
It is primarily an educational function, at the same time taking the form of a festival. As part of ICA, seven concerts are organized with a very wide repertoire - from Baroque to jazz and contemporary music. ICA has been created to shine a spotlight on the world of cello ensembles and support talents who want to improve their cello playing skills.
On the initiative of the Polish Cello Quartet, an offer of music courses meeting the needs and expectations of young musicians was prepared. It is the result of many thoughts and conversations with instrumentalists and professors from around the world. During the workshops, the Cello Academy Orchestra comprising a few dozen musicians is formed, involving all participants, lecturers and guests of the ICA. This year, this ensemble of cellists, unique in Poland, will perform at a special concert at the National Forum of Music in Wrocław.
The founder and organiser of the International Cello Academy is the Polish Cello Quartet bringing together prominent Polish cellists: Tomasz Daroch, Krzysztof Karpeta, Adam Krzeszowiec and Wojciech Fudala.
