The symphonies of one of the lesser-known Viennese Classicists, Karl Ditters von Dittersdorf, were based on the mythical stories told by Ovid in Metamorphoses. During the concert, we will hear a musical presentation of four centuries of humanity; among others the battle fanfare illustrating the age of iron. Next, we will take part in hunting scenes from the myth about Phaeton, then, with Perseus we will save Andromeda, and finally will participate in their joyous marriage. We invite you to an evening filled with one of the most mature examples of Pre-Romantic programme music.
