The Warsaw Chain Ensemble, established under the patronage of the Witold Lutosławski Society, was created in order to perform and promote contemporary music. It is managed by Andrzej Bauer, a cellist and conductor. During the concert, the artists will perform compositions in which image, light and sound will be combined.
An important element of the concert will be its location, which is the Red Hall. Video recordings and lighting will be used. During most of the traditional concerts, the light has a technical character, does not disturb the audience but also does not play a special role. This time the situation will change – it will be one of the components building the narrative of the works being performed.
Ewa Trębacz, born in 1973, a composer and student of Bogusław Schaeffer, for whom the element of integrating music with technology is vital, in work Ligeia, written in 2016 and performed for the first time in Seattle, is inspired by the sirens of Greek mythology and a novella by Edgar Allan Poe of the same title. During the concert, the audience will also hear the Holoedr, a work by Paweł Hendrich, as well as a new composition by Grzegorz Pieniek, born in 1982.
