In winter, the mountains look like a fairy-tale land. All covered with a down duvet of the snow, they create a unique Christmas atmosphere. When the first star appears in the sky, the highlanders sit down to the Christmas Eve supper. There is a beautifully dressed Christmas tree in the cozy cottage, the fragrances of Christmas Eve dishes fill the room and there is a fire in the hearth. At a richly set wooden table, beautifully decorated with folk ornaments, the hosts share the wafer with their guests. And when they have a tasty meal, they pull out the violins, bassets and start singing Christmas carols.
During the concert, Kapela Ciupaga will present traditional highlander carols and pastorals. Young music lovers will learn about highlander singing and scales. They will peep into a wooden hut, see colourful highlander costumes and feel the magic of Christmas celebrated in the mountains.
