This is the eighth season of the NFM Orchestra Academy, a project whose aim is to professionally prepare young musicians to work in orchestras. We invite you to the March open rehearsal of the orchestra composed of participants of this year’s edition.
One of the elements of the all-season workshops are orchestral classes, giving participants a chance to learn about a wide range of orchestral repertoire and to transform the knowledge gained during tutorials and group classes into experience. It is also an opportunity to cooperate with top-notch musicians. March orchestral classes will be conducted by Lawrence Foster, Principal Conductor and Artistic Director of NOSPR, who also served as music director of Orquestra Simfònica de Barcelona, Orchester Philharmonique de Monte-Carlo, Houston Symphony, Orchester de Chambre de Lausanne, Opéra Orchester National Montpellier Occitanie and Aspen Music Festival and School. Participants of the NFM Orchestral Academy will work under his direction on Symphony No. 1 in C major op. 21 by Ludwig van Beethoven.
For several years now, the NFM Orchestral Academy has been giving you the opportunity to observe the creative process that takes place during the rehearsal of a professional orchestra – a process that usually results in a concert. The fragment of the rehearsal, in which you will participate on Sunday, is the last hour of joint work of the musicians and the leader, planned for a total of six hours and starting the day before. Feel invited, as your presence will become an additional motivation for the young people and a catalyst for releasing their emotions, without which it is difficult to talk about true art.
The Open Rehearsal will last 60 minutes without intermission.
