National Forum of Music annouces the audition to the position of Second Concertmaster

The audition will take place on 18 February 2019 at 10:00 in the Red Hall of the National Forum of Music, pl. Wolności 1, Wrocław, Poland.
Applications (letter of intent, artistic biography and supporting documents confirming your education, qualification or skills) will be accepted by 4 February 2019 at the following e-mail address: przesluchania.leopoldinum@nfm.wroclaw.pl
In the title of the e-mail, please type: audition, NFM Leopoldinum Orchestra, II concertmaster

Programme:

Stage One:
W. A. Mozart: 3rd Concerto in G major, KV 216 (1st movement with cadenza and 2nd movement) or 4th Concerto in D major, KV 218 (1st movement with cadenza and 2nd movement) or 5th Concerto in A major, KV 219 (1st movement with cadenza and 2nd movement)
and:
J.S. Bach: Sonatas or Partitas for solo violin – two contrasting movements

Stage Two:
Violin Concerto from the Romantic or 20th-century era, 1st movement  (from L. van Beethoven to D. Shostakovich)
F. Mendelssohn-Bartholdy: Octet in E flat major Op. 20, 1st movement (from beginning to reprise) (candidate plays as leader with orchestra members and runs short rehearsal)

Orchestral studies (selected fragments are marked in the online music material in .pdf format)

I. Stravinsky: Apollon musagète, solo from the Variation d'Appollon
G. Bacewicz: Concerto for String Orchestra, 1st movement
A. Berg: Lyric Suite, Presto delirando
K. Szymanowski: Quartet for Orchestra arranged by. R. Tognetti, 2nd movement
B. Britten: solo from Preludes and Fugues Op. 29 for string orchestra
E. W. Korngold: Sextet in D major, Op. 10, Intermezzo
E. Grieg: Suite Aus Holbergs Zeit op. 40, solo from Rigaudon

Please note: the candidate may be asked to play orchestral studies in every stage.

The organiser provides the accompanist only on the day of the exam.
Details of the audition schedule will be provided to candidates after their list is closed.
Depending on the number of applicants, the NFM reserves the right to invite only selected candidates to the audition
