Dance parties have become a well-established tradition at the Forum Musicum festival, and this year, the festival will again invite you to dance. During the Renaissance dance party, the participants will be accompanied by the musicians of the Alta Group, and the artists of the Amatum Dance Theatre will be coach you in Renaissance choreography. The dance steps and figures will be presented from scratch, so we invite everyone to dance together, regardless of their skills or experience!
The Alta Ensemble, a historical ensemble, focuses on Polish and European renaissance. It brings together artists specialising in the performance of secular and religious music from the 15th to the 17th century. From the beginning of its existence, it has been associated with the Lublin Castle, gradually expanding its activities, and today it gives concerts throughout Poland and internationally. The artists present the listeners with the sound of old instruments, such as: lutes, shawms, pommers, harps, cornamusas, viola da gamba, flutes, fiddles and hurdy-gurdy.
The Amatum Dance Theatre is a group of artists specialising in historical dance. Their repertoire includes court dances from the Middle Ages, Renaissance, Baroque, 19th-century salon dances, Polish national dances and dances from the interwar period. The theatre has had shows at festivals and family city picnics and runs workshops too. Amatum’s portfolio includes numerous appearances in film and television productions. Its artistic director is Robert Lubera – dancer, choreographer and producer.
