Autumn is a time when we often miss exercise and lack energy. Therefore, we invite all seniors to a workshop that combines relaxation, dance and music therapy. The workshop will be led by a qualified music therapist and aims to promote relaxation and personal growth – ​​to better understand yourself and discover new forms of activity.

During the workshop, you will perform simple choreographies to ethnic music from around the world in a friendly atmosphere. This will surely calm your mind with the soothing sounds used in music therapy; you will experience the joy of movement and dance in a group and take care of your mental and physical well-being.

Please bring comfortable clothing, a sleeping mat, and a blanket or warm sweatshirt – especially useful for relaxation or floor exercises.

Dr Katarzyna Turek is a music therapist and musician. She graduated with distinction from the Academy of Music in Lublin. She has studied at the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław (Composition and Theory of Music, specialising in music therapy) and in Katowice (Instrumental Studies, specialising in oboe). She is the author and co-author of scientific papers on music therapy in the areas of psychogeriatrics, dementia, neurodegenerative diseases, oncology, and music and exercise in therapeutic activities. She collaborates with centres promoting therapy through art and participates in programmes supporting individuals affected by exclusion and those struggling with various diseases, including the so-called lifestyle diseases. She has participated in conferences on music therapy, as well as psychogeriatrics, psychiatry, oncology, and rehabilitation. She collaborates with the Medical University in Wrocław, University of Physical Education in Wrocław, and the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice.
