“Goodness Is Born to Us” – A Christmas Show by the "Śląsk" Song and Dance Company

Join us for a colourful Christmas performance featuring the most beautiful carols and pastorals with regional and national dances.
The concert will showcase carols deeply rooted in centuries-old Christmas traditions, such as  Bóg się rodzi  (God Is Born), Jezus malusieńki (Tiny Jesus), Cicha Noc (Silent Night), and Adeste fideles. The programme also includes original compositions by Stanisław Hadyna set to lyrics by Kazimierz Szemioth, pieces like Na pasterkę gorole (Highlanders, Let’s Go to Midnight Mass), Pasterze nie zwlekali (Shepherds Didn’t Lag Behind), and Święta to biele (Christmas in Shades of White). You will surely be moved by the Polonez-kolęda (Polonaise-Carol), a piece with patriotic overtones that leaves a lasting impression. This festive setting will be complemented by the distinctive choreography of the company’s Principal Choreographer Elwira Kamińska. Artists from the “Śląsk” Song and Dance Company will perform the Trojak, Kujawiak-Oberek, and Krakowiak, as well as a Polonez-Mazur arranged by Władysław Stefanik. The programme will be complemented by Podhale-style storytelling by Hanna Nowobilska, evoking the true spirit of Christmas once more.
