City of the borderland, transit route between East and West, between ancient and futuristic. This feeling is also reflected in the music made in Vilnius – spreading between the archaic sutartinės tradition and the utopia of electronic minimalism born at the turn of the century. The first journey to Vilnius is of spiritualist nature: Arturas Bumšteinas evokes the spirit of Miron Białoszewski – Miron Białoszewski evokes the spirit of Adam Mickiewicz. Does the famous monologue – as EVP – still resonate in the cell occupied by Konrad in Vilnius? The second journey has a more realist, or even brutalist dimension: Antanas Dombrovskij presents a modernist landscape of Vilnius viewed from the perspective of the White Bridge, completed in 1995. The third journey is a trip on the Vilnius subway – a dream that never came true, but materialized sonically in the installation by Vytautas V. Jurgutis.
