During the first organ concert on Sunday we will listen to a varied programme performed by three artists, featuring original and fascinating works by composers who worked in different eras and styles. It is a great opportunity for a family visit to the National Forum of Music and surely be an excellent presentation of the sound possibilities of the new instrument.

The concert will begin with Krzysztof Urbaniak’s performance of Toccata, Adagio and Fugue in C major BWV 564 by Johann Sebastian Bach. This is an early work of the great composer, which illustrates the scale of his enormous talent and the diverse moods he could evoke on this instrument.
Sławomir Kamiński will present works of two lesser known composers. The Baroque era will be represented by a piece by Georg Muffat. His Toccata decima, full of life and energy, comes from the collection Apparatus musico-organisticus. The majestic Alleluia is a composition by the 20th-century Italian composer Giuseppe Rosetta.

The program of Tomasz Głuchowski’s performance will include fragments of two organ symphonies by Marcel Dupré and Charles-Marie Widor. This genre developed in France in the 19th century, and the pieces were written for Romantic symphonic organ, the powerful sound of which was to imitate the entire orchestra. The National Forum of Music has built this type of instrument, perfect for presenting such a repertoire. At the end of the concert, we will listen to the Rhythmic Trumpet from the Baroques suite by the American composer Seth Bingham.
