The musicians associated in contemporary ensemble are one of the most dynamic groups that perform music by Polish contemporary composers. As its members emphasize – in their work they are above all open to experiment and interdisciplinary activities. During the multimedia concert, they will present several works by artists of the young generation: Monika Szpyrka, Viacheslav Kyrylov, Piotr Peszat, Rafał Ryterski and Marta Śniady.
No-body for amplified female voice and sampler by Monika Szpyrka is based on the interpretation of Bolesław Leśmian’s Girl and I’m Nobody! Who are you by Emily Dickinson. The common denominator of both works is the theme of the lack of a body. When the body is missing, the only element of identity is the voice – full of uncertainty and silence. The piece will be preceded by the composition vis-à-vis the Ukrainian artist of the young generation, Viacheslav Kyrylov. Piotr Peszat belongs contemporary ensemble, with whom he will perform TVTVT – Intronisation using live electronics, video techniques and performers.
Among the interests of another artist whose work will be presented by the ensemble, Rafał Ryterski, one can find a kind of attempt to juxtapose the real and the virtual world. The artist synthesizes both spheres, including in Disco Bloodbath (Got to be real) for ensemble and electronics. The concert will end with Marta Śniady’s YOUR ONLY LIMIT IS YOU with the use of visual elements and performance. The title of the composition refers to the popular coaching slogans circulating in the society: “You can be whatever you want! Only you are the limit to yourself. You can do anything. Want more. Strive for excellence.”
