Modern humas, living in a technologically advanced world, full of attractive gadgets that tempt with ingenious solutions, often forget about nature. Moving with fast means of transport, he rarely notices changes that take place in the natural world. The rush and city noise drown out the natural sounds. Composers felt this kind of discomfort in the old days too. To rest, they went to the countryside. There they sought not only the longed-for silence, but also inspiration.
Antonio Vivaldi - composer and violinist from Italy, living and creating at the turn of the 17th century - wrote violin concertos, which he named: Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter. They were included in the collection of 12 concertos op.8 "The dispute between harmony and imagination". In these works, using sounds, Vivaldir portrayed the changes taking place in nature and people in its background. Each season of the year was adequately characterized and divided into scenes.
In Vivaldi's music, we will hear birds singing, the sound of a stream and a gust of wind. We will listen to thunderstorms and farmers having fun with cheerful country dances. We will feel a biting frost and a piercing wind. The music will be complemented with pictures by Polish painters. We will hear virtuoso solos performed by the outstanding violinist Zbigniew Pilch with the accompaniment of The Violin Consort.
