The NFM Girls’ Choir, bringing together girls aged nine to eighteen, was founded in September 2022 by Andrzej Kosendiak. From the outset, it has operated under the direction of Małgorzata Podzielny, its mastermind. Since 2023, Mikołaj Szczęsny has served as the choir’s assistant artistic director.
Despite its short history, the NFM Girls’ Choir has already been actively involved in the musical life of Wrocław, realising artistic projects in collaboration with renowned conductors such as Ernst Kovacic, Enrico Onofri, and Jacek Kaspszyk, as well as ensembles such as the European Union Baroque Orchestra, Sinfonia Varsovia, NFM Leopoldinum Orchestra, LutosAir Quintet, Lutosławski Quartet, Polish Radio Choir, NFM Choir, NFM Boys’ Choir, and Rondo Vocal Ensemble. The choir regularly performs at festivals and concerts in Poland and internationally, presenting both sacred and secular music. Among its most important events are concerts during the International Festival Wratislavia Cantans (2023, 2024), the Leo Festival, and the European Youth Festival “Fête de l'Europe” in Dresden. The choir also performed as a guest of honour at the 22nd Ignaz Reimann International Choral Music Festival in Wambierzyce and has participated in numerous arts projects in Lower Silesia.
The NFM Girls’ Choir boasts a number of successes, including winning the Grand Prix at the 8th International Professor Józef Świder Music Festival in Cieszyn (2023) and the Grand Prix at the Chorus Inside International Competition in Rovinj, Croatia, in 2024. In October 2024, the choir received an award for the best performance of a work by a Polish composer at the National Choral Competition held as part of the National Choral Forum “Wrocław – the City of Music”.
In December 2023, the choir’s first album, Philharmonic of Mr Blot, was released, featuring the NFM Boys’ Choir, Rondo Vocal Ensemble and NFM Leopoldinum Orchestra. The album includes songs from the films about the adventures of Mr Blot, arranged by Michał Ziółkowski. In 2025, the album was nominated for a 2025 Fryderyk Award in the Crossover category.
In 2025, the choir won the Grand Prix at the Ohrid Choir Festival in North Macedonia and the Golden Diploma at the 11th International Nicolaus Copernicus Choral Competition and “Per Musicam Ad Astra” Festival in Toruń.
The NFM Girls’ Choir is active in three groups. More information about recruitment and the beginner and intermediate groups can be found at: https://www.nfm.wroclaw.pl/edukacja-dla-mlodych-artystow/nabor-i-zajecia
