NFM Orchestra Academy

The NFM Orchestra Academy is a new project of the National Forum of Music, whose aim is to provide professional orchestral training to young musicians between 18 and 30 years of age. On a monthly basis, the Academy participants attend training sessions run by the concertmasters and leaders of the NFM Wrocław Philharmonic and thus gain hands-on comprehensive orchestral practice which will help them meet the requirements posed to orchestral musicians.

The young and talented instrumentalists were selected to participate in the Orchestral Academy on the basis of the recordings they had submitted. From October through June they are introduced to the general principles of orchestral playing, get familiar with various styles and performance practices, acquire the knowledge necessary to be able to listen to each other and create the orchestra’s tone colour, phrases and interpretations.
