Bartłomiej Misiuda

W latach 1995–2001 studiował w Akademii Muzycznej im. Ignacego Jana Paderewskiego w Poznaniu w klasie śpiewu Andrzeja Ogórkiewicza oraz w Akademii Muzycznej im. Karola Lipińskiego we Wrocławiu w klasie śpiewu Christiana Elsnera – pod jego kierunkiem ukończył także studia podyplomowe w Hochschule für Musik Carl Maria von Weber w Dreźnie (2001–2003). Finalista oraz laureat nagród specjalnych konkursów wokalnych w Dusznikach--Zdroju (2000) i Wiedniu (Belvedere Singing Competition; 2007).

Artysta występował w teatrach i na scenach koncertowych m.in. w Polsce, Niemczech, Austrii, Anglii, Norwegii, Holandii, Belgii, Kanadzie, Chinach, we Francji i na Węgrzech. Dwukrotnie otrzymał zaproszenie na letni festiwal Kammeroper Schloss Rheinsberg (2000–2001). W sezonie 2004/05 był członkiem zespołu Staatstheater Nürnberg, a w sezonie 2005/06 jako pierwszy Polak uczestniczył w programie Atelier Lyrique Opéra National de Paris.

Bartłomiej Misiuda występował pod batutą takich dyrygentów, jak Seiji Ozawa, Kent Nagano, Dennis Russell Davies, Thomas Hengelbrock, Sylvain Cambreling, Hartmut Haenchen, José Maria Florêncio, Tadeusz Kozłowski, Philippe Auguin, Wojciech Michniewski, Piotr Wajrak, Tomasz Tokarczyk, Andriy Yurkevych, Ewa Michnik i Gabriel Chmura. Współpracował także z wieloma reżyserami, wśród nich znaleźli się m.in. Robert Carsen, Robert Wilson, Luc Bondy, Stephen Taylor, Karl-Ernst i Ursel Herrmannowie, Hinrich Horstkotte, Krystyna Janda, Krzysztof Warlikowski, Michał Znaniecki, Dominique Pitoiset, Pet Halmen, Marc Paquien, André Engel, Marek Weiss i Gilbert Deflo.

W 2008 r. brał udział w koncertowym wykonaniu Tannhäusera Wagnera (Wolfram von Eschenbach) w Montrealu z Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal pod batutą Kenta Nagano.
Artysta śpiewał także repertuar współczesny, m.in. utwory Luki Lombardiego (Un oratorio materialistico) oraz Siegfrieda Matthusa podczas festiwalu Mouvement – Musik im 21. Jahrhundert w Saarbrücken (2002). W 2006 r. uczestniczył w światowej prapremierze opery Xaviera Deyera Les Aveugles na podstawie dramatu Ślepcy Maeterlincka, wykonanej pod dyrekcją Guillaume’a Tourniaire’a w Théâtre Gérard Philipe de Saint-Denis, następnie w paryskiej Opéra Bastille i londyńskim Almeida Theater. W sezonie 2009/10 w Opéra Garnier występował we współczesnej operze Faust Philippe’a Fénelona (Le Forgeron) pod dyrekcją Bernharda Kontarsky’ego.

Bartłomiej Misiuda ceniony jest również jako interpretator pieśni, zwłaszcza niemieckiej liryki wokalnej (pieśni Schuberta, Schumanna, Brahmsa, Mahlera, Wolfa itp.) W 2008 r. wykonał z Orchestre de l’Opéra National de Paris pod dyrekcją Vello Pähn’a cykl Lieder eines fahrenden Gesellen Mahlera w ramach cyklu przedstawień przypominających najlepsze choreografie Maurice’a Béjarta (Hommage à Maurice Béjart). Wraz z zespołem Opery Bałtyckiej w Gdańsku nagrał operę Madame Curie Sikory (DUX), która miała światową prapremierę w 2011 r. w paryskiej siedzibie UNESCO.

Występuje na najważniejszych scenach operowych w Polsce, w sezonie 2018/19 m.in. jako Papageno w Czarodziejskim flecie Mozarta oraz Bosman w operze Billy Budd Brittena w Teatrze Wielkim – Operze Narodowej w Warszawie. We wrześniu weźmie udział w światowej premierze opery Ahat ilī – Siostra bogów Aleksandra Nowaka do libretta Olgi Tokarczuk (reż. Pia Partum) w ramach Festiwalu Sacrum Profanum w ICE Kraków.

In the years 1995–2001, he studied at the Faculty of Vocal and Drama of the I. J. Paderewski Music Academy in Poznań (Andrzej Ogórkiewicz) and at the K. Lipiński Music Academy in Wrocław (Christian Elsner). He did post-graduate studies in the years 2001–2003 with Christian Elsner at the Hochschule für Musik Carl Maria von Weber Dresden. Finalist and laureate of special awards during the vocal competitions in Duszniki-Zdrój (2000) and Vienna (Belvedere Singing Competition, 2007).

Bartłomiej Misiuda performed in theatres and on concert stages in Poland, Germany, Hungary, Austria, France, England, Norway, the Netherlands, Canada and China. He was invited twice to the summer Chamber Opera Schloss Rheinsberg Festival (2000-2001). For the season 2004/2005 he joined Staatstheater Nürnberg, and in the season 2005/2006 he was the first Pole to join Atelier Lyrique Opéra National de Paris.

In 2008 Misiuda participated in the concert version of the opera Tannhäuser by Wagner (Wolfram von Eschenbach) performed in Montreal together with the Montreal Symphony Orchestra conducted by Kent Nagano. In the field of contemporary music, he sang the compositions of Luca Lombardi, among others Un oratorio materialistico, and Siegfried Matthus during the Mouvement – Musik im 21. Jahrhundert in Saarbrücken (2002). In 2006, he participated in the world premiere of the opera by Xavier Deyer Les Aveugles, based on the play The Blind by Maeterlinck, conducted by Guillaume Tourniaire in Théâtre Gérard Philipe de Saint-Denis, in Opéra Bastille (Paris), and in Almeida Theater (London). In the season 2009/10 at the Paris Opéra Garnier he played the part of Le Forgeron in the contemporary version of Faust by Philippe Fénelon conducted by Bernhard Kontarsky.

Bartłomiej Misiuda is also highly valued for interpreting songs especially of German lyric songs (by Schubert, Schumann, Brahms, Mahler, Wolf, etc.). In 2008 he performed, together with the Orchestre de l’Opéra National de Paris conducted by Vello Pahn, a cycle Lieder eines fahrenden Gesellen by Mahler as a reminder of the best choreographies by Béjart (Hommage à Maurice Béjart).

Together with the artists from the Baltic Opera in Gdańsk, he recorded the opera Madame Curie by Elżbieta Sikora (DUX) which had its world premiere in 2011 in the UNESCO headquarters in Paris.
He appears on the most important opera stages in Poland, in the season 2018/2019, among others, as Papageno in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte and Bosun in Britten’s Billy Budd at the Teatr Wielki – Polish National Opera in Warsaw. In September he will perform in the world premiere of the opera Ahat ilī – Sister of Gods by Aleksander Nowak to a libretto by Olga Tokarczuk (dir. Pia Partum) as part of the Sacrum Profanum Festival at the ICE Cracow.
