Repertuar Mary-Ellen Nesi zawiera głównie dzieła muzyki barokowej, klasycznej i włoskiego bel canto. Artystka zachwycała publiczność w wielu głównych rolach, w takich operach jak Carmen Bizeta, Cenerentola Rossiniego, Kawaler srebrnej róży R. Dyrygenci, z którymi współpracowała, to René Jacobs, Ivor Bolton, Charles Dutoit, Bruno Weil, Alan Curtis, Ottavio Dantone, Fabio Biondi, George Petrou, Frans Brüggen, Teodor Currentzis, Julia Jones, Diego Fasolis, Paul O’Dette, Stephen Stubbs, Andrea Marcon, Jean Christophe Spinosi, Federico Maria Sardelli, Emmanuelle Haïm, John Reilly Lewis, Rubén Dubrovsky i Eduardo López Banzo.  Nagrania oper Händla z udziałem śpiewaczki – Oreste (rola tytułowa), Arianna in Creta (Teseo), Tamerlano (Andronico), Julisz Cezar (Sekstus), Alessandro Severo (Alessandro) z Georgem Petrou oraz Il trionfo di Clelia Glucka (Orazio) pod dyrekcją Giuseppe Sigismondiego de Risio – spotkały się z ogromnym uznaniem międzynarodowej prasy (m.in. ECHO Klassik 2008 dla Tamerlano). Artystka występuje także w nagraniach DVD – w tytułowej roli w Farnace pod batutą Federica Marii Sardellego (także CD), jako Antiope w Ercole su’l Termodonte, Polinesso w Ariodante i Mitrena w Motezumie pod dyrekcją Alana Curtisa (wszystkie wydane przez Dynamic). Zarejestrowała ponadto Tolomeo e Alessandro D. Scarlattiego (Dorisbe; Archiv), Berenice Händla (Arsace; Virgin), solową płytę Salve Regina pod dyrekcją Alana Curtisa (Deutsche Harmonia Mundi), Farnace Vivaldiego (Berenice) pod dyrekcją Diego Fasolisa (Virgin), Siroe, rè di Persia Hassego (Emira) pod dyrekcją George’a Petrou, album Christmas in San Marco (Berlin Classics) z Peterem Koppem. Jej ostatnie nagrania to Wesele Figara (Cherubin) z Teodorem Currentzisem (Sony), Baroque Divas z Georgem Petrou (Decca), IX Symfonia Beethovena z Brunonem Weilem (Tafelmusik Media) oraz Germanico in Germania Porpory (Arminio) z Janem Tomaszem Adamusem (Decca).

Mary-Ellen Nesi występuje podczas wielu recitali, koncertów muzyki barokowej, ma też w swoim dorobku prawykonania utworów współczesnych kompozytorów greckich w kraju i za granicą. Założyła Opera Festival of Ancient Corinth, na którym wystawiła opery inspirowane starożytną Grecją i Rzymem na stanowisku archeologicznym starożytnego Koryntu (2003–09).

Urodzona w Montrealu, w Kanadzie, w rodzinie greckich imigrantów, studiowała w Atenach pod kierunkiem Misy Ikeutsi (dyplom z wyróżnieniem). Uczyła się także u Ernsta Haefligera w Zurychu, Arriga Poli w Modenie, Frangiskosa Voutsinosa i Kostasa Paskalisa w Atenach.

Her recordings of Handel’s Oreste (title role), Arianna in Creta (as Teseo), Tamerlano (as Andronico), Giulio Cesare (as Sesto), Alessandro Severo (as Alessandro) under George Petrou and Gluck’s Il trionfo di Clelia (as Orazio), led by Giuseppe Sigismondi de Risio, were received with the highest praise by the international press (including the ECHO Klassik 2008 for Tamerlano) She also performs the title role in the DVD and CD of Vivaldi’s Farnace, under Federico Maria Sardelli, Antiope in the DVD of Ercole su’l Termodonte, Polinesso in the DVD of Ariodante and Mitrena in the DVD of Motezuma, under Alan Curtis (all by Dynamic). Mary-Ellen Nesi has given many recitals and Baroque music concerts and has premiered works by contemporary Greek composers at home and abroad. She had founded the Opera Festival of Ancient Corinth, which staged operas inspired by ancient Greece and ancient Rome in the archeological site of Ancient Corinth (2003–09).

Born in Montreal, Canada, of Greek parents, Mary-Ellen Nesi studied in Athens under Misa Ikeutsi, graduating with distinction. She has also studied with Ernst Haefliger in Zurich, Arrigo Pola in Modena, Frangiskos Voutsinos and Kostas Paskalis in Athens.
