Yeree Suh

Sopranistka pochodząca z Korei Południowej. Studiowała w Seoul National University, Universität der Künste Berlin u Haralda Stamma, w Lipsku u Reginy Werner-Dietrich oraz w Schola Cantorum Basiliensis u Gerda Türka. Artystka zdobyła międzynarodową sławę jako interpretatorka repertuaru z XVII i XVIII w. oraz muzyki współczesnej. Zadebiutowała w roli Ninfy w Orfeuszu C. Monteverdiego pod dyrekcją René Jacobsa na Innsbrucker Festwochen der Alten Musik w 2003 r., a także wystąpiła w Staatsoper Unter den Linden w Berlinie oraz Theater an der Wien.

Artystka współpracowała z dyrygentami zajmującymi się muzyką dawną, takimi jak Philippe Herreweghe, Ton Koopman, Andrea Marcon, Jean-Christophe Spinosi i Masaaki Suzuki. Występowała także ze światowej klasy zespołami i orkiestrami, w szczególności z Anima Eterna Brugge, Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin, Venice Baroque Orchestra, Finnish Baroque Orchestra, Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin, hr-Sinfonieorchester Frankfurt oraz Nieuw Ensemble.

Yeree Suh ma na swoim koncie wiele nagrań płytowych, m.in. z występów podczas Schubertiade, a także album Carmina Burana (zrealizowany we współpracy z Josem van Immerseelem) oraz płytę Musik der Hamburger Pfeffersäcke (zarejestrowaną z Elbipolis Barockorchester Hamburg). Nagrała również utwory H. Purcella, G.F. Händla, J.S. Bacha i O. Respighiego oraz kompozycje współczesne J. Bingham i M. Jarrella.

W 2019 r. artystka wystąpiła w produkcji Kornéla Mundrucza na podstawie Requiem G. Ligetiego podczas Ruhrtriennale wraz z Bochumer Symphoniker i Stevenem Sloanem. W sezonie 2019/2020 wróci również do współpracy z Ensemble intercontemporain, Deutsche Symphonie-Orchester Berlin, Dresdner Kreuzchor, a następnie odbędzie tournée z zespołem Anima Eterna Brugge i Josem van Immerseelem.

Yeree Suh is a Korean singer (soprano) who studied at the Seoul National University, Universität der Künste Berlin with Harald Stamm, in Leipzig with Regina Werner-Dietrich and at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis with Gerd Türk. She has become internationally renowned as an interpreter of 17th and 18th century repertoire as well as of contemporary music. She made her debut in the role as Ninfa in C. Monteverdi’s L’Orfeo under René Jacobs at the 2003 Innsbruck Festival and appearances at the Staatsoper Berlin and Theater an der Wien.

The singer has worked with early music conductors such as Philippe Herreweghe, Ton Koopman, Andrea Marcon, Jean-Christophe Spinosi and Masaaki Suzuki. She has also worked with world-class ensembles and orchestras, such as Anima Eterna Brugge, the Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin, the Venice Baroque Orchestra, the Finnish Baroque Orchestra, Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin, the Frankfurt Radio Symphony, the Nieuw Ensemble.

Yeree Suh has many CD releases, including Schubertiade performance as well as Carmina Burana in collaboration with Jos van Immerseel, Musik der Hamburger Pfeffersäcke with the Elbipolis Barockorchester Hamburg. She has also recorded works by composers, such as H. Purcell, G.F. Handel, J.S. Bach and O. Respighi, as well as contemporary works by J. Bingham and M. Jarrell.

On her agenda for the 2019/20 season, she has an upcoming production by Kornél Mundruczó based on G. Ligeti’s Requiem at the Ruhrtriennale together with the Bochum Symphony Orchestra and Steven Sloane. She also returns to the Ensemble intercontemporain, the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin, the Dresden Kreuzchor and then goes on tour with Anima Eterna Brugge and Jos van Immerseel.
