Tomáš Král, baryton, studiował śpiew na Akademii Muzycznej im. L. Janáčka w Brnie w klasie Adriany Hlavsovej, brał też udział w kursach mistrzowskich Julie Hasler, Howarda Crooka, Petera Schreiera i Joela Frederiksena, a także korzystał z konsultacji u Ivana Kusnjera.
Od roku 2005 regularnie współpracuje z takimi zespołami, jak Collegium 1704, Collegium Marianum, Musica Florea, Capella Regia, Ensemble Inégal i Ensemble Tourbillon oraz jest członkiem-założycielem zespołu Collegium Vocale 1704. Współpracuje też z Wrocławską Orkiestrą Barokową, Collegium Vocale Gent, Doulce Mémoire, Musica Aeterna, Red Herring, L’Aura Soave di Cremona, Cinquecento, La Venexiana, Vox Luminis. Wielokrotnie prezentował się na festiwalach Praska Wiosna, Dresdner Festspiele, Festival de La Chaise Dieu, Festival de Sablé, Festival d’Ambronay, Tage Alte Musik Regensburg, Oude Muziek Utrecht, MA Brugge, Bozar, w wiedeńskim Konzerthaus czy londyńskim Wigmore Hall.

Tomáš Král wystąpił jako Uberto w La serva padrona Pergolesiego; Giove w La Calisto Cavallego; Lisingo w Le cinesi Glucka; Ernesto w Il mondo della luna Haydna; Apollo w kantacie Apollo i Dafne Händla; Boccaccio (partia tytułowa) Suppégo oraz Guglielmo w Così fan tutte Mozarta, Ottokar w Wolnym strzelcu Webera i bohater tytułowy w Ryszardzie I Händla w adaptacji Telemanna. W zeszłym roku wziął udział, pod batutą Michaela Hofstettera, w scenicznej prezentacji Requiem W.A. Mozarta i współczesnego kompozytora R. Van Schoora w Kunstfestspiele Herrenhausen w Hanowerze oraz w teatrze w Giessen.
Dorobek fonograficzny artysty obejmuje wiele cenionych nagrań płytowych, przede wszystkim dzieł Jana Dismasa Zelenki (Missa votiva, Requiem i Officium defunctorum, Responsoria pro hebdomada sancta, Lamentationes Ieremiae Prophetae), a także nagrań radiowych (France Musique, Radio Clara, Czeskie Radio) i telewizyjnych (dla Mezzo TV, Arte TV czy Telewizji Czeskiej).

Tomáš Král, baritone, studied voice at the Janáček Academy of Performing Arts in Brno under A. Hlavsová and during master classes with J. Hasler, H. Crook, P. Schreier, J. Frederiksen, and he has been in consultation with I. Kusnjer. Since 2005, he has been collaborating regularly with Czech ensembles Collegium 1704, Collegium Marianum, Musica Florea, Ensemble Inégal, and he is a founding member of the ensemble Collegium Vocale 1704. He also collaborates with the ensembles and orchestras: Wrocław Baroque Orchestra, Collegium Vocale Gent, Doulce Mémoire, Red Herring, L’Aura Soave di Cremona, Cinquecento, La Venexiana, Vox Luminis, Holland Baroque, and B’Rock Orchestra. He has appeared at the festivals Prague Spring, Dresden Music Festival, Festival de La Chaise-Dieu, Festival de Sablé, Festival d’Ambronay, Festival Oude Muziek Utrecht, MA festival Brugge, Wratislavia Cantans, Salzburger Festspiele, in BOZAR in Brussels, Wiener Konzerthaus, and London’s Wigmore Hall.
Tomáš Král also devotes himself to opera, having appeared as Uberto in the comic intermezzo La serva padrona by G.B. Pergolesi, Giove in La Calisto by F. Cavalli with Collegium Marianum, Lisingo in Le cinesi by C.W. von Gluck with Collegium 1704, Ernesto in Il mondo della Luna by J. Haydn with Czech Ensemble Baroque, Apollo in G.F. Handel’s cantata Apollo e Dafne with Musica Florea and as a guest performer at the Moravian Theatre in Olomouc in an operatic production of F. von Suppé’s Boccaccio (title role) and in W.A. Mozart’s opera Così fan tutte (as Guglielmo).

In 2014, with conductor M. Hofstetter he took part in a stage production of W.A. Mozart’s Requiem and a work by contemporary composer R. van Schoor at KunstFestSpiele Herrenhausen in Hannover and the theater in Gießen. He also sang the role of of Ottokar in a concert version of C.M. von Weber’s Freischütz at the Styriarte festival in Graz. In 2015, he sang the main role in G.Ph. Telemann’s adaptation of G.F. Handel’s opera Riccardo Primo in the theatre in Gießen. In 2016, he took part in a highly appreciated stage production of J.S. Bach’s St John Passion with B’Rock Orchestra staged by P. Audi at Klarafestival in Brussels, Wratislavia Cantans in Wrocław and Opera Forward Festival in Amsterdam. The same year, he sang the part of Apollo in Monteverdi’s Orfeo in Opéra de Dijon. Tomáš Král has participated in many highly recognized recordings especially with music of J.D. Zelenka (Missa votiva, Lamentationes Ieremiae Prophetae), J.S. Bach’s Mass in B minor with Collegium 1704 and in the latest recording of L. Janáček’s Moravian Folksongs; as well as in radio (France Musique, Radio Klara, Czech Radio) and TV recordings (Mezzo, Arte or Czech Television).
