She first studied acting, singing and dancing at the Berliner Schule für Bühnenkunst. After private singing lessons in Munich, she finished studies in Dresden in 2012. Julia Böhme contributed to several stage productions, e.g. 2006 at the experimental musical stage play Das Golem-Projekt at the Hellerau – European Centre for the Arts Dresden, 2008 in Dresden as Ottavia (Monteverdi’s L’incoronazione di Poppea), and 2010 as Orfeo (Gluck’s Orphée et Eurydice). As a scholarship holder in 2012/13, she sung Antippo in Telemann’s

Der geduldige Sokrates in Halle and also contributed in Semperoper Dresden to Henze’s We Come to the River and Wulff-Woesten’s Prinz Bussel. Julia Böhme has worked with such conductors as Hans-Christoph Rademann, Helmuth Rilling, Václav Luks, Wolfgang Katschner, and Jörg-Peter Weigle at famous venues and festivals like the Ludwigsburger Schlossfestspiele, theatres in Schaffhausen, Badauchstädt, and Gütersloh. Besidesseveral concerts with Václav Luks and Wolfgang Katschner, she debuted at the Salzburger Festspiele in 2016.

Her first recording, Seconda Donna, will be released soon. Since 2012, she is also part of AuditivVokal, an ensemble for contemporary vocal music in Dresden.
