The American soprano, she returned to the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, this summer as Violetta in Verdi’s La traviata. This marked her first London appearances in her signature role since her explosive European debut in the 2013 Peter Konwitschny production at English National Opera, which landed her on the cover of Opera magazine. In the 2017/18 season, she brings her Violetta to Theater Basel, for her house debut in a new Daniel Kramer production, and to Melbourne, where she debuts with Opera Australia. She also returns to the National Symphony Orchestra in Washington, D.C., under the baton of Gianandrea Noseda, and debuts at the Bregenzer Festspiele in Austria.
Recent seasons have included major role debuts as the title character in Káťa Kabanová by Janáček (Seattle Opera), Desdemona in Verdi’s Otello (Opera Vlaanderen), Tatyana in Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin (Arizona Opera), Magda in La rondine (Opera Theatre of Saint Louis), and Liù in Turandot by Puccini (Orquesta Sinfónica Simón Bolívar, conducted by Gustavo Dudamel). On the concert stage, she has joined tenor Matthew Polenzani in recital for the George London Foundation. She has also appeared in recital with the New York Festival of Song, Tucson Desert Song Festival, and Vocal Arts DC, showcasing Spanish song repertoire from her debut album, Canción amorosa.

Originally from Frederick, MD, Corinne Winters earned a Master of Music degree in vocal performance from the Peabody Conservatory and Bachelor of Science degree magna cum laude from Towson University before appearing as a resident artist at the prestigious Academy of Vocal Arts in Philadelphia.
