Laureatka I nagrody Międzynarodowego Konkursu Opery Barokowej im. Pietra Antonia Cestiego 2020, gdzie otrzymała również nagrodę publiczności oraz nagrodę specjalną festiwalu Resonanzen, który odbywa się w wiedeńskim Konzerthausie. Urodzona w Lecco, rozpoczęła edukację muzyczną pod kierunkiem swoich rodziców muzyków. Oprócz nauki gry na skrzypcach uczyła się śpiewu w polifonicznym zespole wokalnym Famiglia Sala, złożonym z siedmiu członków jej rodziny.W 2017 r. ukończyła Accademia Biennale di Formazione per Direttori di Coro w Bellinzonie w klasie dyrygentury chóralnej Marca Berriniego. Z okazji 105. rocznicy śmierci Jules’a Burgmeina wykonała i nagrała światową premierę jego opery komicznej La Secchia rapita pod dyrekcją Alda Salvagno w Auditorium Verdi w Mediolanie (Dynamic). Niedawno Riccardo Muti zaprosił Margheritę Marię Salę do wykonaniaMagnificat Vivaldiego z jego Orchestra Giovanile Luigi Cherubini w Lourdes i Loreto.
W sezonie 2020/2021 śpiewała w operze Oreste Händla u boku Franca Fagiolego z Maximem Emelyanychevem i Il Pomod’Oro w paryskim Théâtre des Champs-Elysées, Philharmonie Essen i w Tuluzie, a także w operze L’Idalma Pasquiniego pod batutą Alessandra De Marchi podczas Innsbrucker Festwochen der Alten Musik. W sezonie 2021/2022 śpiewaczka występowała w Rappresentatione di Anima, et di Corpo Cavalieriego (Piacere) pod dyrekcją Giovanniego Antoniniego w Theater an der Wien (reż. Robert Carsen)oraz w Orfeuszu Monteverdiego (Speranza) pod batutą Ottavia Dantonego w Teatro Alighieri w Rawennie (reż. Pier Luigi Pizzi). Pod dyrekcją Federica Marii Sardellego wykonała partię Licidy w Olimpiadzie Vivaldiego w Sali Koncertowej im. Czajkowskiego w Moskwie. Dała także recital w Sali Mozartowskiej wiedeńskiego Konzerthausu i wzięła udział we współczesnej światowej premierze opery L’isola d’Alcina Giuseppe Gazzanigi, którą zamierza nagrać wytwórnia Sony z Wernerem Ehrhardtem i jego zespołem l’arte del mondo w Schwetzingen.
Ostatnie i przyszłe występy artystki obejmują kilka utworów Händla: Mesjasza pod dyrekcją Franca Fagiolego w Wersalu i Barcelonie, La resurrezione (Cleofe) z Concerto Copenhagen na festiwalu Resonanzen w Wiedniu, Aci, Galatea e Polifemo (Galatea) naFestiwalu Händlowskim w Halle. Pod dyrekcją Alessandra De Marchi Margherita Maria Sala ma w planach wykonanie włoskiej wersji Mesjasza Händla w Innsbrucku i Halle, wznowienie opery L’Idalma (Irene) w Poczdamie oraz Olimpiadę (Asteria) Vivaldiego na festiwalu w Innsbrucku, a pod batutą Jeana-Christopha Spinosiego – Orlando furioso (Bradamante) w Théâtre des Champs-Elysées.

Margherita Maria Sala is the first prize winner of the International Singing Competition for Baroque Opera ‘Pietro Antonio Cesti’ 2020, where she also received the Audience Award and the Special Prize from the Resonanzen Festival at the Vienna Konzerthaus. Born in Lecco, she began her musical education as a child under the guidanceof her parents, both musicians. Besides early training in violin, she studied singing in the polyphonic vocal group Famiglia Sala composed of the seven members of her family. In 2017, she graduated in choral conducting from the Accademia Biennale di Formazione per Direttori di Coro inBellinzona under the guidance of Marco
Berrini. On the occasion of the 105th death anniversary of Jules Burgmein, she performed and recorded the world premiere of his comic opera La Secchia rapita led by Aldo Salvagno at the Auditorium Verdi in Milan; this was issued on CD by Dynamic.
More recently, Riccardo Muti has invited Margherita Maria Sala to sing Vivaldi’s Magnificat with his Luigi Cherubini YouthOrchestra in Lourdes and Loreto. In the 2020–2021 season, she sang Handel’s Oreste alongside Franco Fagioli
with Maxim Emelyanychev and Il Pomo d’Oro at Paris Théâtre des Champs-Elysées, Essen Philharmonie and Toulouse, as well as Pasquini’s L’Idalma championed by Alessandro De Marchi for the Innsbruck Festwochen der Alten Musik. 2021–2022 saw Margherita Maria Sala performing Cavalieri’s Rappresentatione di Anima, et di Corpo (Piacere) in a Giovanni Antonini/Robert Carsen production at Theater an der Wien and Monteverdi’s Orfeo (Speranza) in an Ottavio DantonePier Luigi Pizzi production at Ravenna Teatro Alighieri. In Vivaldi’s L’Olimpiade she was Licida under Federico Maria Sardelli at Moscow Tchaikovsky Concert Hall and Aristea with Jean-Christophe Spinosi at both Théâtre des Champs-Elysées and Theater an der Wien. She gave a recital in the Mozart Hall of the Vienna Konzerthaus and brought to life the world premiere in modern times of Giuseppe Gazzaniga’s L’isola di Alcina, of which a recording is planned through the Sonlabel, with Werner Ehrhardt and l’arte del mondo in Schwetzingen. Recent and future engagements include several works by Handel: Messiah conducted by Franco Fagioli in Versailles and Barcelona, La resurrezione (Cleofe) with Concerto Copenhagen for the Vienna Resonanzen Festival, Aci, Galatea e Polifemo (Galatea) for the Handel Festival in Halle.
With the participation of Alessandro De Marchi, Margherita Maria Sala performs the Italian version of Handel’s Messiah in Innsbruck and Halle, the revival of Pasquini’s L’Idalma (Irene) in Potsdam and Vivaldi’s L’Olimpiade (Asteria) for the
Innsbruck Festival. Moreover, she appears as Bradamante in Orlando furioso at Paris Théâtre des Champs-Elysées.
