Urodzona w Izraelu, zyskała rozgłos jako członkini zespołu Bayerische Staatsoper pod dyrekcją muzyczną Zubina Mehty; od kilku lat jest artystką rezydentką Wiener Staatsoper. Występowała również w Théâtre des Champs-Elysées, Teatro alla Scala, Semperoper Dresden, Deutsche OperBerlin, Dutch National Opera, podczas Wiener Festwochen, w Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, w przedstawieniach Opera Company of Philadelphia oraz w Israeli Opera. Wcześniej na scenach operowych wykonała tytułową rolę w La Calisto Cavallego w Teatro alla Scala w Mediolanie, partię Ginewry w Ariodante Händla w Royal Opera House – Covent Garden, miała też dwa debiuty: w tytułowej roli w Zaide Mozarta w Teatro dell’Opera di Roma oraz jako Liù w Turandot Pucciniego z Israel Philharmonic Orchestra.

W marcu 2023 r. wytwórnia Deutsche Grammophon wydała Vom ewigen leben Franza Schrekera nagrane z Christophem Eschenbachem i Konzerthausorchester Berlin. Od stycznia 2024 r. Chen Reiss będzie artystką rezydentką Rotterda Philharmonic Orchestra.

Born in Israel, she came to prominence as a member of the ensemble of the BavarianState Opera under the music directorship of Zubin Mehta and has for several years been a resident artist at the Vienna State Opera. She has also performed leading parts at the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées, Teatro alla Scala, Semperoper Dresden, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Dutch National Opera, Wiener Festwochen, Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Opera Company of Philadelphia, and the Israeli Opera. Past operatic highlights include the title role in Cavalli’s La Calisto at the Teatro alla Scala, Milan, Ginevra (Handel’s Ariodante) at the Royal Opera House – Covent Garden, her role debut in the title role of Mozart’s Zaide at the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, and her role debut as Liù (Puccini’s Turandot) with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra. Highlights of this season include Mahler’s 4th Symphony with Luzerner Sinfonierorchester, R. Strauss’ Four Last Songs with the Welsh National Orchestra, her return to Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France under Mikko Frank and to the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra with Klaus Mäkelä.
Next season will mark her debut with the Orchestre Philharmonique de Monte-Carlo and Orchestre national du Capitole de Toulouse with Tarmo Peltokoski, as well as the Orchestra dell’Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia with Lahav Shani. Recent CD releases include Mahler’s 4th Symphony (Pentatone), a disc of orchestral lieder and scenes of Fanny Hensel and Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy with the Jewish Chamber Orchestra of Munich, Immortal Beloved a recording of Beethoven arias and scenes with the Academy of Ancient Music for Onyx Classics, and Mozart’s Ch’io mi scordi di te? and Beethoven’s Terzetto (Tremate, empi, tremate) with Thomas Rösner and the Beethoven Philharmonie for Odradek.
In March 2023, Deutsche Grammophon released Franz Schreker’s Vom ewigen Leben recorded with Christoph Eschenbach and the Konzerthausorchester Berlin. Chen Reiss will be artist-in-residence at the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra from January 2024.
