Krzysztof Folta has been constantly striving to achieve his goals for years, overcoming all obstacles with determination and courage. His life path began with studies at the Wrocław University of Science and Technology, where he obtained a master’s degree in electrical engineering specialising in electrical metrology. Not content with just technical education, he also took a number of management courses and acquired the necessary skills useful in running his own business.
In 1987, Krzysztof Folta founded TIM Sp. z o. o., which became not only an extension of his dreams, but also a place of constant changes and dynamic development. The history of TIM S.A. is the path of his life, full of challenges and successes. Starting from a modest size with headquarters at Prusa Street in Wrocław, the company has transformed into the largest distributor of electrotechnical materials in Poland. It is thanks to its innovative approach to business and adaptation to new trends that the company moved from traditional sales to B2B e-commerce, becoming an inspiration for many other market players.
Krzysztof Folta is not only an entrepreneur, but also a leader who can inspire others to act and exceed their own limits. His motto: “a leader is a person who makes others do what they would not do without the leader’s influence and want to live in the world created by him” perfectly reflects his approach to work and people.
In 2016, ICAN Institute – the publisher of Harvard Business Review Polska – on the occasion of 20 years of work, awarded him the title of “Leader of Tomorrow” in the “Change Leader” category and a special award for “steadfastness in bringing his company into the era of digital revolution”.
Krzysztof Folta is also interested in the scientific activities of Daniel Kahneman, and therefore, psychology and behavioral economics. Additionally, he devotes himself to his passions, such as golf and contemporary art, which he shares with his wife Ewa. Together they are committed to promoting culture through educational and social activities, going beyond simply collecting works of art.
